Yes. You’re very welcome to come and see the place first. Most people do. Get in touch to arrange a time.

Payment is due in full on arrival and is cash only. All current prices are published on the rates page.

Availability can change quickly, so the best way to check a short-notice date is to call. Please have your dates and a few details about your dog ready.

Please get in touch to check Christmas or bank-holiday availability. Skeldale keeps very small numbers, so peak dates can fill early. The usual rates apply during holiday periods.

No more than six dogs are boarded in the kennels at one time. Home boarding is limited separately to one small-to-medium dog or two small dogs from the same household.

Dogs receive regular exercise in the secure grassy runs and fenced fields. Every dog can have off-lead time when their owner allows it. Dogs are usually exercised individually rather than mixed with other guests.

Yes. Dogs can exercise off lead in the four-acre dog-fenced field when their owner allows it.

Dogs are usually kept separate and exercised individually. A dog who would rather have their own space is never forced to mix. I cannot accept dogs with a history of aggression towards humans or other dogs, as this would put their safety and the safety of others at risk.

A puppy over six months old may be accepted if they are lead trained, fully house trained and meet the vaccination requirements. Suitability for puppies and elderly dogs also depends on health and individual care needs, so tell me about your dog when you enquire.

Yes. Two or three dogs from the same household can share when they can do so safely. If separate kennels are needed, the single-dog rate applies to each. See the rates page.

Small numbers allow close attention, but Skeldale is not suitable for every nervous or reactive dog. Dogs with severe anxiety, separation anxiety or difficulty coping with strangers may be declined. I cannot accept dogs with a history of aggression towards humans or other dogs, as this would put their safety and the safety of others at risk. Tell me honestly about your dog’s behaviour so I can assess whether kennel or home boarding is a safe fit.

Yes. I send regular photo and video updates during the stay.

Dogs need current annual vaccinations and kennel-cough vaccination completed at least four weeks before arrival. Send a valid vaccination certificate by email or WhatsApp when booking.

Prescribed medication can be given when you provide clear written instructions and enough for the full stay. Injections cannot be administered.

If your dog becomes ill during their stay, a vet will be contacted and your dog will receive necessary treatment. Veterinary costs are the owner’s responsibility and must be settled on collection. Please tell me about recent illness, health concerns and medication before the stay.

Drop-off and collection are Monday–Sunday, 10.00–11.00. This set window must be followed for the safety and wellbeing of the dogs.

Yes. Skeldale is fully insured.

A kennel stay means your dog has a spacious individual kennel, easy access to secure grassy runs and regular field exercise. Home boarding means your dog stays in my home instead.

Home boarding can suit a fully house-trained small or medium dog who settles well in a home environment. It is not automatically suitable for an anxious dog or one with separation anxiety, so I will talk through temperament, behaviour and routine before confirming a place.
